ORIGIN
For our Demeter-certified lozenges, we work directly with Brazilian cocoa growers in the lush region of Bahia, on the east coast of Brazil.
This region is a veritable jewel case of preserved nature, where the Atlantic forest is home to century-old trees and an exceptional biodiversity that has become rare in the rest of the world.
BIODYNAMY
Our Brazilian pastilles feature the Demeter logo. Still little known to the general public, this label deserves all our attention.
Demeter products are still organic, but the certification goes further by guaranteeing biodynamic agriculture: a holistic and living approach to the earth, where ecosystems are respected and soil fertility naturally regenerated.
CABRUCA & FAZENDA LIARA
The producers we work with are members of the Cabruca cooperative, which takes its name from the region's ancestral agroforestry system.
This model, practised for over two centuries, enables cocoa to be grown without deforestation: cocoa trees flourish in the shade of native trees, in harmony with a wide diversity of plants and animals.
At Moojo, we have chosen to work with Fazenda Liara, a family farm located at the heart of this living ecosystem.
Founded by a passionate couple, it grows much more than cocoa: guarana, vanilla, acai and palm trees are cultivated according to principles of respect for the soil, natural cycles and biodiversity.
