CHUNCHO NATIVO

The origins of Chuncho go back centuries, to the time of the indigenous Machiguenga communities.

This cacao is renowned for being one of the finest native Peruvian cacao. The project that allows the exploitation of Chuncho in this region took shape 15 years ago and continues today to allow the promotion and preservation of this native cacao thanks to the 90 farmers associated with it.

This cacao is defined by notes of citrus, tangerine, notes of dried fruits (macadamia nut, almond, coconut).

URUMBAMBA
SACRED VALLEY

Located in the south of Peru, east of the Andes, the province of La Convencion is one of the places on Earth with the greatest biodiversity.

Its exceptional ecological system is explained as much by its geographical situation: latitude and altitude of the province (400 to 1400m above sea level), as by the fact that it is crossed by numerous rivers.

MACHIGUENGA TRIBE

The Machiguenga are hunter-gatherers-fishermen practicing a slash-and-burn agriculture, traditionally itinerant.

They live in the tropical rainforest, in the southern part of the Peruvian Amazon, bordering the eastern slopes of the Andes.

They belong to the Arawak linguistic family. Their agriculture is based mainly on manioc, banana, corn as well as the native cacao "Chuncho".
