OUR APPROACH
Beyond the dream
We are committed to protecting the terroirs and indigenous cacao varieties, while ensuring total respect for each step of the process, to offer you a selection of exceptional cacao.
We have initiated a project in partnership with Tuq'Tuquilal, a community in Guatemala, to cultivate exceptional cacao trees with the greatest care. United around this project in favor of agro-ecology and the revalorization of the soil, 55 families each take care of a plot of approximately one hectare composed of a third
of Criollo to which are added the Nativo & Fino De Aroma.
A SHARED PRODUCTION TOOL
The chocolate factory
is born
These beans are then transported to Belgium where our Bean To Bar workshops in Heks and Ellezelles (CDT) transform them into chocolate.
We adapt our methods, processing times and temperatures to each type of bean to preserve their unique characteristics and flavors, paying tribute to the passion and care of the producers with whom we collaborate.
We have an ambitious plan for the future: to create a shared workshop in Heks to nurture the enthusiasm of young chocolate artisans in the region, while making access to expensive machinery available to these promising talents.
OUR FUTURES WILL BE COMMON
The notion of common good in the cacao world
Our project is in line with the philosophy of the commons.
We believe in the value of shared resources and their potential to strengthen local communities.
We are convinced that this will enable the Heks region to become a center of excellence in chocolate-making and strengthen the societal impact of our company.
By sharing our expertise, equipment and resources with young artisan chocolatiers, we hope to create a space that promotes learning, collaboration and innovation while preserving the artisanal tradition of chocolate.
The horizon for 2024-2025 looks promising: a Bean To Bar training course will be offered, and we will accompany Belgian artisans and enthusiasts on their adventure towards autonomous, local and sustainable confectionery.
CARBON NEUTRAL SHIPPING
Sailing, the future
of sustainable transport
We are also committed to minimizing our carbon footprint.
That's why we work with Timbercoast, an eco-friendly shipping company that uses the sailboat "Die Advontuur" to transport our Maya Mountain beans from Belize to Belgium.
Not only does this method considerably reduce our carbon footprint, it also allows us to participate in a virtuous circle.
The love of tradition,
The passion of sharing
Our journey with cacao began a few years ago, during our trip to Peru in November 2012.
We went to meet the Shipibo-Conibo tribe,
especially in the indigenous community of Nueva Betania along the Ucayali River.
The purpose of our trip was to study plant medicine and metaphysical practices.
During our stay, we met their ancestral rites, source of millennial wisdom.
This inner journey connected us to the medicines of these lands,
this blossoming opened the way to our new reality,
the wild cacao was in us, the taste of the transmission was born...
